Goals

Teaching

  • To train qualified teachers and researchers for higher education, meeting educational demands throughout the country.
  • Offer advanced training at master’s and doctoral level, encouraging participation in international programs such as sandwich doctorates.
  • Contribute to the creation and strengthening of new graduate programs and centers in Brazil.

Research

  • Develop high-level research in strategic areas of Civil Engineering, aligned with the country’s scientific and technological priorities.
  • Fostering international collaboration through agreements with foreign universities, promoting joint projects and knowledge exchange.
  • Producing innovative knowledge that pushes the boundaries of science and technology, with a focus on solutions applicable to society’s needs.

Extension

  • Establishing partnerships with industry, government bodies and the public administration to carry out research and development (R&D) projects.
  • Provide consultancy and technical assistance services, using the COPPE – COPPETEC Foundation model, to transfer knowledge to society.
  • Designing professional training activities and technological solutions that meet the demands of the productive sector and contribute to social well-being.
