Engineering (LAMCE) has been working for over twenty years on the research, formulation and development of numerical methods in Computational Mechanics applied to Engineering, Geosciences and scientific visualization methods.<\/p><p data-start=\"409\" data-end=\"664\">Currently, LAMCE is one of COPPE&#8217;s largest laboratories, with more than 80 employees, including professors, researchers, administrative technicians and interns, as well as around 100 master&#8217;s and doctoral students (data as of August 2013).<\/p><p data-start=\"666\" data-end=\"872\">LAMCE&#8217;s scientific output includes more than 50 doctoral theses, 160 master&#8217;s dissertations, 10 undergraduate papers, more than 100 articles published in indexed journals and eight book chapters.<\/p><p data-start=\"874\" data-end=\"1208\">The laboratory has a broad portfolio of projects, with more than 130 technological initiatives carried out in partnership with companies, both national and international, as well as funding agencies. LAMCE also has more than twenty agreements and exchanges with national institutions and more than seventeen with international institutions. <\/p><p data-start=\"1210\" data-end=\"1748\"><strong data-start=\"1210\" data-end=\"1249\">ANP Human Resources Program<\/strong><br data-start=\"1249\" data-end=\"1252\">The creation of the Human Resources Program (PRH) of the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), PRH02, which aims to train Civil Engineering professionals for the Oil and Gas sector, is a consequence of the research carried out at LAMCE, in collaboration with CENPES. up of microcomputers, workstations and laptops, which are constantly renewed in order to meet the requirements of the projects and research carried out at the Laboratory. In support of its research areas, LAMCE has a Scientific Visualization Environment such as a Digital Cave, an 8-metre high Dome and a 3D holographic system. The Lobo Carneiro Supercomputer is also in operation. In order to comply with global quality and technical protocols in the execution of projects, LAMCE is ISO 9001 certified. LAMCE is accredited by the National Petroleum Agency (ANP) and is registered with the National Research Infrastructure Platform -MCTI (PNIPE).
