Hub.Rio: Driving Digital Transformation and Sustainability with Artificial Intelligence

The Center of Excellence in Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Hub.Rio): Thematic Network in Renewable Energies and Climate Change, an initiative led by Coppe/UFRJ, was one of the projects awarded by the Rio de Janeiro Research Foundation (Faperj), through the call for proposals for Support for Artificial Intelligence Thematic Networks. The project’s coordinator will be Professor Álvaro Coutinho, from the Civil Engineering Program (PEC). Hub.Rio aims to bring together and leverage the state’s assets to offer contemporary technological solutions anchored in Artificial Intelligence. The aim is to bring together Rio de Janeiro’s scientific, technical and business community to tackle technological challenges involving digital transformation and artificial intelligence in various areas such as: health; renewable energies and climate change; oil and gas; industry 4.0; education; agribusiness; smart cities; public and cyber security; public administration; e-commerce, communications, tourism, gaming, and entertainment, among others.
